Canadiens and Evenko unite to help Héma-Québec

This Tuesday, November 25, the Bell Centre held a day of support and cooperation from many Quebec citizens, but also from The Canadiens and Evenko. The Bell Centre was the host site of the annual blood collect, which strives to get more donors for Héma-Québec. But the striking element of this campaign was the presence of members of the Canadiens organization, former players and personalities of Evenko and RDS who took turns every hour of the day to thank those who participated. Christopher Nilan, Gaston Gingras, Sergio Momesso, Gilbert Delorme, Jean Jacques Daigneault, Youppi and many others were among the famous faces making their way through the establishment. Of course, after effort comes comfort, so if you were there to give your blood, you had access to coffee, drinks, food, hot dogs to gather strength. As part of the Diabetes Awareness Month, donors have access to a kiosk run by “Sun Life Financial” in order to raise awareness about the prevention of this disease.

The Canadiens’ blood drive was initiated in 1981 by Jean Béliveau and Claude Mouton, and since 1998 the Canadiens hockey club organizes the harvest in collaboration with Hema-Quebec (the largest supplier of blood products in Québec). Since the launch of these collections, the participants’ donations have saved more than 100,000 lives, and that in only over thirty years! So go ahead, and take part in the next collection!
