The Toy Doctor n- Norman A. Brown

It is very rare to meet people who are so generous that they do so without a second thought. In this society, and especially in these times, friendly gestures are usually caused by a commercial holiday such as Christmas, Valentine’s Day, or even a birthday. However, between these periods abundant in gifts and parties, it is rare to receive unexpected gifts. Yet a man among us still believes in the power of simply offering to see someone’s face light up with a smile. And this man is Norman A. Brown, better known by children and families in Montreal under the name of Toy Doctor. In 1993 Brown took pleasure in repairing the broken toy for the boy, giving Brown his sweet nickname Doctor Toy. It also gave Brown the idea to make children happy on a larger scale.

For over 22 years Norman has been looking for toy shops which could participate in volunteering for free donation of toys. He goes from store to store to collect toys to be able to donate them to sick children several times a year. He travels to hospitals in the Montreal area to put smiles on children’s faces! Brown and his family make this possible ever year. A fantastic example of kindness and generosity.
